“You may not have chosen this journey, but you can choose how you walk it.”

— Darin Sargent

My friend, if you’re raising a child with a disability, walking alongside someone who is, or navigating one yourself — I don’t have to tell you what the appointments, the therapies, the school meetings, and the sleepless nights of wondering “why” have cost you. You already know.

I was born missing part of my left arm. I know what it is to grow up different, and I’ve spent decades since watching parents and caregivers carry a weight most people never see — the grief that doesn’t get a name, the guilt that sneaks in uninvited, the marriage that quietly strains under the load. I also know that this journey, as hard as it is, was never meant to be carried alone, and it was never a mistake.

This coaching isn’t a program I built from a textbook. It’s built from my own story, from Duana’s and mine together, and from every family I’ve had the honor of walking with since. I’d count it an honor to walk it with you too.

Is This Journey For You?

You’re a parent or caregiver of a child or loved one with a disability or diagnosis, and you want to move beyond simply surviving appointments, therapies, school meetings, and medical decisions.

You’re ready to make space for your own emotional and spiritual well-being, and to strengthen your marriage and family relationships along the way.

You want to take intentional steps toward a future shaped by clarity, connection, hope, and purpose — not only by the diagnosis.

The Four Movements Of The Journey

Every coaching journey walks through the same four movements, at the pace that’s right for your family.

1

Not A Mistake

From shock and uncertainty toward identity and acceptance. We begin with your story — what changed, what hurt, and what you’re still trying to understand.

2

Whose Fault Is It?

From guilt and blame toward freedom and grace. We confront the “why” questions and begin releasing the need to assign blame.

3

Grace For What Remains

From resisting what is hard toward discovering strength within it. We explore what this journey has done to you — your relationships, identity, and faith.

4

A Future Still Worth Building

From simply surviving toward intentionally building what comes next. We identify practical next steps for your child, your family, and your future.
